;D More Black Tourney prizes! FINALLY! I was able to make a bunch of sculptures over winter break, and this guy was one of them!
He's Hamlet the lazy Nidorino from Black Tourney winner

's comic.

Edface wanted Hamlet to be sleeping in his figure, but his pose was very difficult to get right, I actually redid it 2 times. I originally tried to have him laying flat on his stomach with his back legs stretched out behind him, but it looked really weird, so I redid it and had him laying with his legs to the side, like dogs do.

I'm personally very happy with the way the face and paws came out. I discovered a new way of doing paws thanks to a new tool I bought at my college's art store. I think his feet are a big improvement from my past sculptures such as Chain or Fenris. Instead of painting the pawpads on I actually sculpted them this time.

Hamlet was really fun to make, his anatomy kinda reminds me of a mix between a dog, pig and lizard haha

Oh and Ed, I hope I got his spots right! XD

holy frick you're so damn good at sculpting, and you've only gotten better over time ;-; I kinda want to try it myself, can I ask what materials you'd recommend for a beginner...? or just what you use yourself, whatever works xD

I think so too! Every time I do a sculpture I feel like I learn something new~

Super Sculpty is very easy to work with. Make sure you make a skeleton of foil first, to make the figure more steady, and then cover it with clay. When I do my details I use my fingers or a small tool such as a toothpick.
I recently got some dentist tool looking things, but most of the time I just use my fingers.
